So far this has 2 pictures of my "new baby" - a '72 Chevelle Malibu in great condition with 35,600 miles on it. It's been in my family since day one and my Aunt stopped driving so I was the lucky recipient of "Nellie".
My Aunt, "Nellie"'s original owner, was getting a little older and fell prey to an unscupulous mechanic. He convinced her that the car needed to be serviced every spring and fall. Each time he took the car out, he told her it needed a ton of work (new brake system, new power steering, rebuild of every component you could think of) with an average bill of $1500 per trip. And whenever he did her the "favor" of bringing it in for emissions checks he said it needed additional work! He even charged her for supposedly installing a catalytic converter!!! That takes gaul!
He then charged her over $2000 on one bill saying all of the parts had to be custom made because of the car's age.
It wasn't until this happened that any of us were aware that she was getting taken for a ride by this scumbag. She told him to never come around again, hung up the car keys, and stopped driving.
These are just a few links I found that I want to share with you all.
Vision Imprints These folks made a cool t-shirt and hat with my car on it from the picture on the top of the page. They make other stuff too.
